After ten seasons, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced they released offensive lineman Peter Dyakowski on Thursday.

For ten seasons, Dyakowski was a model citizen for this franchise and this city. Countless appearances from award banquets, to even rather impressive showings on game shows, Dyakowski was a stalwart in Hamilton.

Furthermore, the 32-year-oldĀ paid his dues on and off the field, with great commitment and dedication. Many fans had the privilege of meeting him, and he was a people person. He patrolled an offensive line while providing mentorship to his young linemates.

With dedication and perseverance, Dyakowski overcame a major injury suffered at the 2013 Grey Cup. Through rehabilitation during the 2014 campaign, he came back to compete in the postseason and Grey Cup.

Hamilton should never ever forget his contribution to this city.
