Sunday

Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Saskatchewan Roughriders:
Winnipeg’s earned a total of two points in the Labour Day Classic since 2005, and they’re now entering the annual game in Regina minus Matt Nichols, Andrew Harris, Chris Matthews and more. It’ll be a rude awakening against a Saskatchewan team that ranks second in net yards against. Winnipeg’s only hope might be winning the turnover battle, as they lead the league in takeaways with 30. That said, the Riders are first in giveaways with only 13. The Bombers are too young on offence, Riders catch a break and win by 12.
Winnipeg 15 Saskatchewan 27
Best bet: WPG team total under 21.5

Monday

Toronto Argonauts @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats:
Despite similar outcomes in the win-loss column, the Argos are looking rejuvenated with some personnel changes and a confident McLeod Bethel-Thompson. The only issue is Bethel-Thompson has extreme highs, and even more extreme lows. For the Argos to have a chance, he’ll need to be the 400-yard guy, and Brandon Burks and Chris Rainey need to shine against Hamilton’s shoddy run defence. Hamilton’s unbeaten at home, and the Argos should challenge that streak, but the Ti-Cats know how to close out. Hamilton by seven.
Toronto 27 Hamilton 34
Best bet: Over 51.5

Edmonton Eskimos @ Calgary Stampeders
With either Bo Levi Mitchell or Nick Arbuckle, Calgary has the upper-hand over Edmonton. Since 2009, the Esks have one win on Labour Day weekend. The Eskimos rank first in offensive yards, but sixth in touchdowns. They’re also dead last in penalties — by a lot. Scoring threes and taking penalties against Calgary is a recipe for disaster. Until the Esks shore up those issues, they’ll keep coming up just short. The Stamps will let Trevor Harris complete as many passes as he wishes, as long as they’re not for six. Calgary by eight.
Edmonton 22 Calgary 30
Best bet: CGY -3
