Friday

Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers:
The Bombers are catching a needed-break with Hamilton coming in on the third week of their Western road trip. That said, Winnipeg struggles at moving the ball through the air on the Ti-Cats, averaging 197 passing yards in their last 10 meetings. With Chris Streveler failing to hit 200 yards in any of his four starts, the Bombers will have to rely on the run game — the x-factor in this one. The Bombers have never lost at IG Field, and haven’t lost at Investors Group Field since Week 13 of last season. Winnipeg bounces back, win by six.
Hamilton 21 Winnipeg 27
Best bet: First half over 24

Saturday

Edmonton Eskimos @ Ottawa Redblacks:
One team is breaking a bad streak — Edmonton’s lost four straight games while Ottawa’s dropped six in a row. Unfortunately for the Redblacks, even with Logan Kilgore under centre the Esks are much better, plus they currently need points with the Lions chasing. The Redblacks are splitting reps at quarterback too (in Week 16!), which isn’t a recipe for success. Although it’s uncertain, Trevor Harris starting in his return to Ottawa would make it really ugly for the Redblacks. Edmonton’s still more than fine with Kilgore. Esks by 23.
Edmonton 32 Ottawa 9
Best bet: EDM -7.5

Saskatchewan Roughriders @ Toronto Argonauts:
The only thing preventing Toronto from mailing it in could be a motivated James Franklin. Although Franklin’s Argos lost by 25 to the Riders in Week 3, he’s vying for his CFL future. Saskatchewan is at 2-3 on the road too, but it’s hard to overlook the weaknesses in Toronto’s secondary and the Riders’ big-play options. Cody Fajardo’s offence should have no problems moving the football, while it’s a big question mark with Franklin’s unit. The Riders have covered in 10 of their last 15 in Toronto. Ride that trend. Saskatchewan by 12.
Saskatchewan 28 Toronto 16
Best bet: SSK first half -3.5

Montreal Alouettes @ B.C. Lions:
Losing Vernon Adams Jr. really hurts the Als’ shots at winning on the West Coast Saturday, although the Als are stuck in second in the East. Then there’s B.C., who took their last two games against Ottawa by a total of 57 points. B.C.’s offence looks stable, and on defence they now rank third in net yards against. The Alouettes are rolling with Matthew Shiltz into a place they’re winless in since 2015, and against a team they scored 21 points on with Adams Jr. B.C. is also 8-2 in their last 10 against the spread versus Montreal. Leos’ by 13.
Montreal 17 B.C. 30
Best bet: B.C. first half -3
